Covid-19 policy

We constantly follow the Covid-19 updates in the Uk. We will keep the cancellation policy with continued flexibility, especially during this difficult period.

Just so you are aware, due to further easing on Covid-19 restrictions, we choose to continue to social distance and wear a mask to protect ourselves and our guests.

To minimize the risk of cross-contamination of Covid-19, we provide our pub with hand sanitiser stations.

So we kindly invite all our guests to hand sanitize their hands at any time.

You will find hand sanitiser mist on every table, also antibacterial soap and hand sanitiser gel in every toilet. 

From our side, we clean sanitize every table and chair before the opening time and during the day.

We also wear gloves when we set up the table for you.

Napkins, cutlery, crockery and glasses are also disinfected before use.

 

In case of restrictions being lifted from the government, we still follow our Covid-19 safety guidelines. You can choose to act the way you think is better for you and of course, follow the latest Covid-19 update rules. 

Our Covid-19 policy will change every time according to the announcement of new rules and updates: also, if restrictions are lifted or implemented by the government, and so, this may influence the availability of our services and the way we operate as well.

Reservations & Private Dining Policy

  1. Terms of the agreement between the two parties.

    1. May these terms and conditions be considered effective post your email agreement and the pay in full of the deposit (if required from us).

    2. Terms and conditions may be added by writing with the email confirmation and this attached document. 

  2. Confirmation of booking.

    1. Bookings will only be regarded as confirmed upon our email confirmation, and the required paid deposit (in case we require you to pay one). 

    2. Any changes to the booking details must be made by writing and sent to our email address. this will not have effect unless acknowledges in writing by receiving an email confirmation from us. 

    3. You shall be required to pay the deposit in full immediately following the agreement of the terms and conditions to secure the booking. We require a £10 deposit for groups of or up to 6 people (no deposit is required for children from 1 to 13). Private dining deposit or bookings at a specific time of the year (ex: bank holidays etc..) or one of our events may vary. 

    4. An additional deposit amount may be requested in case of changes made from you to the original booking, which can be only done within an established period.

  3. Cancellation Policy. (events and normal booking)

    1. PAY DEPOSIT ONLY - If your booked event or table is more than 10 days away, you are only liable for the deposit value required to secure the booking (which differ from customer to customer according to their specific requests in case of private dining) and anything additional to this is absolutely refundable. 

    2. PAY IN FULL - if your booked event or table is more than 10 days away, and you have already paid in full for your booking, you will be entitled to request a refund, but the accorded deposit will be not included in your refund.

    3. For our events policy, If you decide to cancel within the period of 10 days but more than 48 hours prior to your event, you can still move the date. If you decide to cancel within 5 days prior to the event, this shall result in the loss in full of any payment accepted by The Chandos Arms team and no refund or credit options will be available.

    4. Dine with us booked tables policy: if you booked a table of or up to 6 people and for any reason nobody shows up within 30 minutes from the booking made from you, this shall result in the loss in full of any payment accepted by The Chandos Arms team and no refund or credit options will be available. In case you have paid the required amount of £10 per person and on the day of the booked dine with us table one person and/or more people don't show up, this shall result in the loss in full of any payment per person accepted by The Chandos Arms team and no refund or credit options will be available.

    5. In the event that any or all of the bill for the booking remains outstanding, interest will be payable on all sums, calculated on a day to day base rate of +5% per calendar month from the due date of payment until the actual date of payment.

    6. Any queries or complaints concerning the bill must be submitted in writing within 5 business days of the date stated on the bill.

    7. Payment of the deposit – If you fail to pay the required deposit, The Chandos Arms team may, without any liability to you, cancel the booking.

  4. Cancellation by you.

    1. All cancellations made by you must be in writing and emailed to our designed email address and will be of no effect unless acknowledged in writing by one of our team.

    2. The Chandos Arms team will refund the full deposit where notification has been received 10 days prior or more, before the reservation.

    3. The full amount will be charged where notification has been received within 5 days prior to the booking.

  5. Cancellation by our team.

    1. The Chandos Arms team may cancel a booking without any liability being incurred whatsoever if:

  • You fail to pay the deposit;

  • Due to events and circumstances beyond the control of our teams such as death, medical condition or mental health condition, injury, family death, sicknesses and government restrictions. Covid-19 policy applied.

    1. In case of cancellation by The Chandos Arms team, you will be entitled to a refund in full of your deposit, or/and the full paid bill in case of payment in full is applied. 

  1. Final numbers of guests.

    1. The final number of guests must be established immediately if possible, or prior to 7 days of the date of the booking (in case of od private dining). 

    2. The Chandos Arms is entitled of accepting or not any additional guests.

    3. In case of cancellation from 1 or more of your guests, The Chandos Arms is entitled to refund a percentage of the deposit or bill at its discretion. Some of the remaining amounts may be deducted to cover any losses and expenses due to our service/work.

    4. In case of additional guests, an additional deposit may be requested. Obviously, the final invoice will show an increased price.

  2. Food.

    1. In the case of private dining: you are requested to provide the dietary requirement of every guest (yourself included) prior to choosing the menu, as this is considered of primary importance. In the case of dining with us, the dietary requirement of every guest is requested upon service. We appreciate as much information as possible when you reserve the table.

    2. In the case of private dining, the choice of Menu/food and wine (if applicable) must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the booking. Occasionally certain dishes and drinks may become unavailable at short notice due to difficulties of supply. In this event, The Chandos Arms team must contact you immediately to propose an alternative.

    3. If you have any specific ingredient or supplier or recipe you want The Chandos Arms team to follow/use, this must be specified in writing in your email, and in case, also requested to be provided from you.

    4. The secret tasting menu offered by Matteo Romeo Chef cannot be discussed. It is essential for Chef Matteo Romeo to know the taste, food preferences and of course allergies of your guests prior to the day of the event. In case of poor communication or your failure of providing enough details to Chef Matteo Romeo, the responsibility for any circumstances due to the food served from Matteo Romeo at The Chandos Arms will be considered as from you.

  3. Allergies and Intolerances.

    1. Any guest allergies and intolerances should be clearly notified. Guests with severe allergies or intolerances should be aware that although all due care is taken, there is a risk of allergen ingredients still being present. Please note, any bespoke orders requested cannot be guaranteed as entirely allergen free and will be consumed at the guest’s own risk.

  4. Food Safety Policy

    1. Be aware that, the Chandos Arms team has successfully passed multiple courses that show the whole team competence as a food handler. However, our team does not have control in full of the nature of all the food. We provide our guests with an allergen matrix for each menu that can be asked at any time, also a full detailed list of our chosen supplier, food safety policy and any other required document can be provided upon request. If in any case,  case of intoxication, death and any symptoms due to food burnt illness and cross-contamination of any pathogens; Matteo Romeo will not be responsible for any of these problems.

    2. Food traceability- In case of poor quality food illnesses, or outbreaks of any diseases due to these products, our provided information and these terms can be used by any food standard agency, lawyer or authorities to make further investigations. 

  5. Force Majeure.

    1. Failure to perform any term or condition of the terms as a result of conditions beyond either parties’ control including, but not limited to war, strikes, riots, fires, floods, the act of God, natural phenomena, government restrictions, and power failure, shall not be deemed a breach of the terms.

  6. General

    1. These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the court of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
